BEACH BUMS

OK, we did not get enough of the heat yesterday, so today I took the kids to the beach.

Check out the waves behind those kids..NOTHIN!
And Avery wanted to take her surfboard, oh ok, NOT.

UNIVERSAL BEAT-DOWN

The second wave of cousins have descended from Texas.

Yesterday we took them to Universal Studios in Orlando.
UGH! For some reason I think that these theme parks are always about 20 degrees hotter than the rest of the state.
Maybe it has something to do with the large mass of people in a confined area.

So yesterday was a bad food, bad weather, bad attitude day :)

The picture above was the highlight for me...

BEACHES FINE ART SERIES SPRINT #3

OK, Maybe I don't look very friendly in the above photo, but I want you to look BEHIND me!
Do you see those waves?!
Yeah, I had just dragged my butt out of those after swimming a 1/4 mile.

Yesterday was the last sprint tri in the Beaches Fine Art Series.
My goal was to beat my time from tri number 2..and I did that, but not by as much as I wanted.
I think that swim slowed me down a bit....

The rest of the tri went well. Basically uneventful..
The thing about a sprint tri is that the race is over before you know it. Not much time for observations.

My final time was 1:12:18.

And I had a great time.. So I guess in the end I won, right?

Today we took the cousins out on the boat, THE SPRTYMAMA.
Agrh, she's a fine vessel!




Our destination was to the Sandollar restaurant, but we got lost and ended up on some sandbar the boys nicknamed
" Crap Island".. Hah.. Typical boys





Austin and I managed some wakeboarding... Ok, he is better than me!
His cousin tried it out and did very good for his first time.






Finally we head back to dock. We are beat and feel burnt to a crisp.

Two of my twin's three boys just arrived.
The action has started..
Today we went to the beach. Ahh the heat!

We bought a tent so the kids could camp out in the backyard. That lasted about an hour as it is really hot this week. Even in the dark.




We have a tidal creek behind our house that goes out to the intercoastal.
A kayak seemed like a great idea, so Mike bought THREE!





Looks like the chainsaw that I got for Christmas this past year is finally going to come in handy. There is a dead tree that has fallen across the creek blocking our exit to the intercoastal..
Good thing the neighbors are out of town! Bye Bye tree!

THE COOLEST CAMERA EVER..Olympus Stylus 770.. This thing is bomb proof, and water proof , freeze proof.
I took it to the pool the other day for some entertainment..Here is Avery...






This sweet, innocent looking creature was strolling in our yard the other day.
Do not let this cute baby raccoon fool you! This fur ball will destroy your garbage and kick your cat's butt!






The parents of my childhood friend, Tanya came to see us the other day. It was great to see them.
Mother "O" told Avery that she is soo much nicer and well behaved than her Mommy (me) was at the same age..Mother "O" told my kids how wild my twin and Tanya were together. From the stories, I am actually relieved that I made it out of teenage years safe and sound....
