Right now I feel like IMFL is popping up any second and then it seems like it will never get here.
Really though, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I am ready to get this thing (IMFL) on!
I tell myself for the time being I have about 4 weeks left of some hard training.
It really has not been that hard.. This worries me.
It makes me second guess my training and to think I am perhaps not doing enough?
Whatever!
I know that I am going to show up to the start on Nov 1 and toe the line.
I am going to do the best I absolutely can and I will have fun doing it.. No matter what!
On the home front.. The kids are all in school now and basically settled into the schedule.
Although every morning, Aidan whines to me about how school lasts soooooo long!
The puppy, Scout, is great.. She is now as tall as Sadie. Of course, nowhere near as fat though.
At the end of the morning walk, I run the last 50 yards home encouraging Scout to follow me.
She seems like she likes to run.
Good girl...Just wait until you are a year old and I show you how long a real run lasts! :)
Since I am moving into the final countdown to IMFL, I think it is a good idea to finally try on my new wetsuit and go for an open water swim..That should be interesting...

ENDLESS SUMMER RIDE
Yesterday I rode my first century.
This organized group ride actually fit in my training schedule perfectly.
I was scheduled to ride 5-6 hours this past weekend.
I dreaded doing this alone, so I scouted out to see if I could find an organized ride.
The Endless Summer Watermelon ride was going on here in Jacksonville, so I signed up.
They had several ride distances to choose from.
I picked the hundred (hundo) miler.
I fretted all night before about which bike to ride. I know, I know!
Not many people fret over which bike to ride. But I am in the business, so I have a few bikes, ok?
My tri bike is squirlly on the road.
Wind + tri bike= not good.. especially since I have deep dish wheels. Kinda like a sail.
Throw in a couple of semi trucks blowing by you and you better grip the handlebars tight and hang on!
The morning of the ride, I woke up and decided I was going to ride my Immortal bike.
Good decision as it was fairly windy the entire ride.
I enjoyed most of the ride, especially the rest stops..
These stops were fully stocked with all kinds of goodies. Watermelon, snickers, grapes, fig newtons etc, etc.
I made sure to snarf a few snacks at each stop.
Once I hit about 80 miles, I was really looking forward to finishing. It was hot by then and I was cooked.
I had to keep telling myself though that if this was IRONMAN, I would still have 12 miles to ride once I hit the 100 mile mark.
I made a mental check of my condition at the end and I could have ridden another 12 miles. Good thing as I will have the chance to do that in about 8 weeks.
I rolled into finish at 5:56:20, this included the rest stops, so I was pleased with the time.
Below are some shots from the ride. We went through some nice horse country. This also included an unplanned stop for a train. At that point I was really wanting the train to be alot longer than it was :)

I have not posted in awhile..
Been busy..
End of summer, back to school, puppy, and on, and on.
One thing I have been working on since January is my new website.
It has been a slow process, but we have finally launched it.
There are still things we are refining, but check it out as is.
www.sportymamabikes.com
BUY SOMETHING, or refer me to someone who needs a little fun in their life. A NEW BIKE!
