I love Christmas Eve more than Christmas day.
It is the quiet before the storm so to speak.
The kids and I went hiking yesterday afternoon. It was beautiful. High 70s, sunny.
The dogs loved it. So many new smells!
I hope you all have a great holiday, whatever it is you celebrate.
Thanks for reading.

LEBOWSKI CHRISTMAS

Last night was our office Christmas party.
Instead of standing around the office eating bad food, or going to a restaurant that would take forever to seat our group, Mike and I hosted a bowling party.
COSMIC BOWLING.
To those who do not know, cosmic bowling is done in the dark with loud music and black lights to highlight the neon colors of the balls and paint on the wall. Alone or with just your family it can seem kinda corny. But with a group of your coworkers, it can get crazy.
Being a huge Lebowski fan, I pride myself on my bowling high score of 159.
I was sure I would kick everyones butt last night.
It was a sad night score wise. My highest game was a 100.
I blame it on the beer. I would have had White Russians like The Dude, but then the night would have been really ugly!
Mike and I have a great group of people working with us.
Thanks to you all.

OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP
The recipe for these cookies was given to me by my sister in law.
She is a professional wedding cake baker (artist).
In other words, her baked goods are GOOD!
When she passed the recipe to me and Avery, she told me to never give it to anyone.
She said many people would ask for it and when they do, give them a made up recipe for some other oatmeal cookie.
Many people have asked me for the recipe.
Instead of making up some fake recipe, I just tell them flat out they cannot have this one.
Hee Hee..
I have been thinking though...Its not what is in these cookies that makes them so good.
It is how they are made.....With a little bit of love for everyone we give them to.
I am sure you have a recipe like that? somewhere? right?
Happy Holidays!

TREE HUNT
Our family hunt for a Christmas tree was last night.
Man, trees are expensive!
The first one we fell in love with was 200.00
We fell OUT of love immediately...
I wonder where the "cheap" tree section is?
I guess the tree man does not have one of those sections, but we finally found the perfect tree.
We brought in home it the back of a pickup truck, TEXAS style.
Its important to retain your Texas pride, even though we have lived in Florida for almost 14 years.
Happy Holidays!

BLAST FROM THE PAST
It has been slow lately.
So I have had some time on my hands..
Time enough to get signed up on FACEBOOK.
That place kills me! I still do not get it completely..
I am learning.. Someone threw a snowball at me yesterday.. Not really sure what that means.
I have befriended some people from highschool days.. Checking out the pics from 20 years ago is really entertaining..
Funny how it takes about 20 years to realize just how bad your haircut was!
If you have some time on your hands, send me a friend request.
